Tekken 7 just keeps on selling. The Bandai Namco fighter has topped 6 million copies, making it a real juggernaut of the genre. And to celebrate, a new artwork has been released. Unlike previous celebratory pieces β which usually show the Tekken cast getting together for a big party β this one takes the coronavirus pandemic into account.
Many of the characters are still here, but they're having to get together through a video call. There are loads of little details to pick out, and we can't help but crack up every time we notice Alisa.
Tekken 7's 6 million means that Tekken as a whole has now sold over 50 million copies, which is pretty impressive. Tekken 7 itself has been available on consoles for over three years now, and support for the game is still strong. Case in point: Season 4 was just detailed, with Kunimitsu returning to the fray as a DLC character.

I was one of those sales a few days ago! Now I just need to source Tag Tournament 2 but canβt decide between Wii U or PS3...
That Asuka π
But yeah, funnily enough I got into this again the other day. Couldn't find my old physical copy so bought it again with S1 and S2.
I wish Asuka would give me those eyes. π
Still patiently waiting for that complete package π
It's on sale just about every week so no surprise it sells well. I have it but haven't played it much. I've probably done more bowling than actual fighting.
Still a little bitter I had to buy Julia Chang but I guess paywalls for foundational characters are just part of the gaming landscape now.
Hopefully they'll put out another Tag Tournament. Those are the best imo.
@ShogunRok Apologies for being off-topic, but will there be a Tokyo Games Show summary article?
@NeoTokyo404 Honestly, probably not. TGS hasn't had much for us this year, as we kind of expected. We haven't really had to cover much of it β just bits and pieces of news.
That said, we'll be going over it all tomorrow to see if we've missed anything.
WOW hilarious I can barely contain my laughter
Several reasons I think Tekken 7 sold very well (in no particular oder): it's an easy platinum, it is the end of the Heihachi story canon, it is on sale often, the graphics are great.
I love these happy artworks of games that are normally less than wholesome.
@nessisonett Hi there friend. I was also one of those sales myself a while ago. but all these season passes for every fighting game are driving me crazy.
On the other note, if you can, you should get TTT2 WiiU Edition. It is by far the best version of the game, especialy for all the new content the game as, like nintendo chracter costumes for almost every fighter and the awesome Tekken Ball mode that finaly made itΒ΄s return since Tekken 3.
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming to us all
